First meeting information
How do I join the online meetings? (click me !)
Instructions for students:
once we have scheduled our first meeting over the phone and you or your parents have received the online meeting link by email or text, there are a few quick steps you need to take before you are ready for our first meeting.
1) Make sure you have a good internet connection on the device and at the location you will be joining the meeting.
2) Make sure you have google chrome installed on your device. other browsers can work too but the platform we use for our meetings will work best with google chrome.
Need help installing google chrome? click HERE for step-by-step instructions.
3) Use the meeting link ( read the "Where can I find the meeting link?" section below) and open it in google chrome. If you get a prompt saying would you like to download the app or continue using the browser, select Continue using the browser. You do not need to download anything other than google chrome.
4) That's it! you will be in the waiting room until you are admitted into the meeting.
Important note: Although you can join the meeting on your phone it is not recommended as the quality of the meeting will be much lower because of the lower capability of mobile devices(and the screen size will also be much smaller). It is highly recommended that students join the meetings from a laptop or desktop computer. If you do plan on joining using your phone you will need to download the RingCentral app on your phone before our meeting. You can do this by searching for "RingCentral " on the app store for iPhone or the Google app store for Android. If you have any problems with the steps above please contact us for additional help.
Where can I find the meeting link? (click me !)
The meeting link will be sent by text or email to students or their parents after scheduling the first meeting over the phone.
Note: the same meeting link will be used for subsequent meetings so please make sure to save the link somewhere you can easily access for future meetings.
Do I need to do anything before our first meeting? (click me !)
There is only one thing that you should do before your first meeting and that is to scan or take pictures of the material that they want to go over in your first meeting, this can include pages from your textbook, any worksheets that you might have been given, homework/ workbook problems,... anything that you want to work on. Don't have any material to send? no problem. If you don't have any material to go over or you don't know what to send over that's okay we have access to textbooks and sample problems on a variety of topics in math chemistry and physics that can be used to get you the practice you need.
General meeting information
Meeting cancelation /rescheduling (click me !)
Since we do everything online we are able to be flexible with the timing of our meetings, however, parents or students need to make sure to give 24-48 hours of notice if they think they will need to cancel a meeting or reschedule for another day. we ask all students to give as much notice for cancellations/rescheduling as possible (minimum of 24 hours) because that way that time period can be available to any other student looking to book a meeting for that specific date. A cancelation/ rescheduling might not be possible without timely notice. If you do need to cancel or reschedule a meeting you can do so by using letting us know in your previous meeting before the cancelation, by email, through a text or, a call (contact page).
Note: This excludes emergency situations where a 24-48 hour notice is not always possible. Please don't worry if something unforeseen happens and you can't make it to a meeting.
Will our meetings be recorded? (click me !)
No, the meetings are not recorded, but all students will get access to a digital notebook with all the notes/work done in their meetings. So you will have access to all the material/problems discussed in class and will be able to view it at any point in time during their current school year. You should also take notes for yourself during meetings as it helps greatly with the learning prosses.
